April Fuel
Club sailing has highlighted some equipment needs on my Laser. Having spent enough time underwater to determine a real need for a periscope, the fact that a wave penetrating trimaran was in town was enough to excite my curiosity. Peter Bouffant’s Earthrace was designed for the very worst of storms and last year succeeded in lifting the around the world record in a powerboat. He paid a visit to Napier last weekend and we went along to hear his advocacy for the alternative fuel of bio diesel. Guess we will stick to sails. Cool boat though.
Meanwhile baby Torgan known as Little Buddha continues to show his preference for leaded fuel. Our arms have now lengthened to the extent that we are now living proof of Darwins’ suspicions. It’s quite handy being able to turn on a knuckle and use one of our tentacles to yank yet another bit of moulded plastic from Jaws II.
